01

An Instrument

First of all you need either a keyboard or a piano at home to practice on. Make sure if you have a keyboard, that it is  'touch sensitive'. This means that it increases in volume depending on how hard you press the key. It needs to be no less than 6 octaves and have a proper stand and pedal. If you have a piano, then make sure it's tuned to pitch. I can help your with that.

03

ZOOM

You will need to set up a Zoom account on line. I will then send you an ID & password to enter my screen. If you decide on a 60 minute lesson, I will come out of the lesson and immediately return after 30 mins as there is a charge after 45 mins for the host.

05

Stationary Corner

I have recommended my favourites if you are a beginner. So check out my info under MUSICBOOKS. Bring with you a nice sharp pencil and some manuscript paper/book. I will email you notes every week as a recap of the lesson and to help remind you of what you are working on.

I look forward to meeting you

Somethings are obviously more important on your checklist than others and this will develop as your grow in confidence and see what you want. I hope this info has helped give you a head start in knowing if you want to pursue lessons, whether it be with me or someone else. I wish you all the best on your journey.

Testimonials

Lauren is a fantastic piano/keyboard teacher. I had a bit of music knowledge, from singing in other bands and could play a few basic chords, but nothing more. Lauren is teaching me everything from theory to chords, to song writing and I’m loving it. Her knowledge is incredible but she teaches in a way that makes it so easy to understand. She asked me what I wanted to learn and how I wanted to do it and has been so accommodating. Each lesson we do some theory and then either switch to something else or carry on with theory, depending on how I’m feeling that day. I am so glad I started these lessons, it gives me a creative outlet and even if I’m tired at the start, I finish the lesson feeling really refreshed.
